My story

My journey started in 2003 when I qualified as a Personal Trainer and Aerobics Instructor. At the time I was passionate about fitness and wanted to pursue a career within this field. As my client base built up, I very soon started studying more to help my clients with nutrition. Nutrition was the element that everyone seemed to struggle with – most of them didn’t have enough time to prepare healthy meals and many were really confused about the conflicting and often controversial information out there.

As I became more experienced,  I concentrated on clients wanting corrective exercise training continuing my education through the holistic-based Chek Institute. As I got more into biomechanics, I then qualified in massage to offer clients an additional therapy. Alongside this I am also qualified to teach Spin, Pilates, Circuit Training and Kobo Boxing as well as undertaking a yoga foundation qualification.

In 2004 I started a family and have since raised four children.

My dream of writing a cookbook came to fruition as my family grew up and I started to realise that there was a gap in the market for healthy, easy, no-aggravation recipes that the whole family could enjoy. I used to run a variety of cookery demonstrations in conjunction with my cookbook to inspire people to cook.

During my mid-thirties, my health seemed to start deteriorating. In 2016 I moved to Ibiza with my family which was the start of my spiritual shift and I started to do the deep, meaningful work on myself alongside teaching pilates classes and continuing with cookery demonstrations of more of a vegan theme which were very popular in Ibiza.

Although my brief time in Ibiza did teach me to slow down, my foot was constantly ‘on the gas’. Three children at the time, two dogs and the stress of moving back to the UK just under two years later had taken its toll on me. I had a herniated disk giving me extreme pain, I constantly looked four months pregnant despite eating well and working out, I wasn’t sleeping well and my periods were erratic. My nutrition and lifestyle pillars were in good shape but I couldn’t help but feel there was more going on. Blood tests from the doctor didn’t flag anything abnormal. Functional medicine testing revealed that not only did my hormones need some serious support, I also had the dreaded Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) along with mould issues.

After several months I saw enormous improvements in my health and this was the catalyst for me to take my passion for coaching to the next level. I am now a certified FDN practitioner and regularly see clients with conditions varying from metabolic issues, inflammation, mould toxicity or gut infections.
